No. Our belief is that your body is enough and your mind is powerful, and our lessons show you how to use them both to avoid or minimize danger, WITHOUT the use of weapons. Weapons often provide a false sense of safety, can do more harm than good if not used correctly, and are usually not legal to travel with. Our course has been specifically created to empower you with skills that mean you won't need them.

We’ve partnered with 30+ experts to bring you this incredible festival; all of our speakers are experts in their fields, with years worth of experience in their topic (simply put, they know what they're talking about!); you'll hear from self defence experts, sexual wellbeing professionals, pilots, psychologists, therapists, lecturers, doctors, disability advocates, National Parks specialists, and more. Our experts have put together bonus resources that will help you apply the key takeaways from each masterclass, whether this be audio files you can download, cheat sheets you can refer to, or checklists you can work off for jumping straight into action! These bonus' are only available to those on our annual plan.

Not at all. We have created a two week calendar you can follow if you'd like to move through the course with other members of our community, completing the same content on the same days. However you are welcome to move through the course at your own pace - you can binge it all in one day if you want to (it's actually very binge worthy!)

There are also no pre-requisites in our course, you can complete sessions at your own pace, in any order you choose. Watch your favorites more than once - if you want to start with the closing keynote, and end with the opening keynote, you're more than welcome to!

If you have a Live Pass, you will have access to all course content for 14 days. If you have purchased an Annual Pass, your access remains valid for 365 days, and you have additional access to cheat sheets, checklists, and downloadables prepared by our experts.

Empowerful has been created to be an evergreen content resource, with health and safety advice you can apply to traveling in any situation. We encourage responsible travel within the health and safety regulations of each country you visit. However as COVID-19 is not a permanent part of the travel experience, we instead point you to official resources on the topic.

Yes, all sessions are delivered in English, however we have a very diverse range of speakers whose mother tongue is not (meaning that while they deliver their classes in English, you'll be hearing many different accents). Diversity is one of the key values of Solo Female Travelers, we seek it and celebrate it and we want to bring the same ethos to Empowerful. This is why several of our speakers come from non English speaking countries such as Spain, Colombia, Malaysia or Brazil.
